The Yue shirt is an Hawaiian shirt, a staple item for summer. It has a simple silhouette and can be worn either open or closed.
Hawaiian shirts have their roots in the kimono and are the perfect item to enjoy traditional Japanese patterns. That's why we named this shirt "Yue shirt". Yue or Yuen means "Origin" in Japanese.

About Pattern & Material
▫️ Motif: Karakusa (scrolling arabesque)
▫️ Technique: Hand-dyeing (tsumugi ground)
On a calm ecru base, fine karakusa is dyed in warm ochre and brown. The traditional karakusa — meaning prosperity and long life for the way its vines extend unbroken — is drawn in continuous, symmetrical curves, giving an all-over yet orderly, settled impression.
The cloth uses tsumugi (pongee), marked by the rustic character of its slubbed thread. Its matte, luster-subdued texture and durability sit well with the earth-toned pattern. Smooth to the touch and comfortable for everyday wear, it softens and settles to the body the more it is worn.
