What I found there was a beautiful truth—
people who chose to anchor their lives in that very soil,
keeping their family, their sacred customs, and the rhythm of nature close to their hearts.

The Two Souls of Kubu Bakas

Though not a coconut plantation, coconuts grow in abundance,

    farmed birds wander freely,

and rice paddies stretch wide, where agriculture itself shapes the landscape.

In Bakas—a village where Bali’s nature and culture thrive—

Ali and Sindy live their days, creating Kubu Bakas

and continuing to share the true beauty of their home.

A Balinese sunset after the rain.

I also love the faint light born from the setting sun. Around that time, I frequently saw people burning incense or organic matter. That atmosphere gives the surroundings a slightly ethereal feel.
The subtle light of this hour, the depth of the garment, and the texture of her skin harmonized beautifully. The crisp feel of the summer pongee (Natsu-tsumugi) fabric effortlessly suits the climate of a Balinese dusk.
