Kimono Dress in Bakas, Bali.
What I found there was a beautiful truth—
people who chose to anchor their lives in that very soil,
keeping their family, their sacred customs, and the rhythm of nature close to their hearts.
The Tessen flower, gracefully extending its vines and blooming in elegant splendor.
The essence of early summer, cherished through time.
Ari, in a shirt of soft, young-leaf green,
and Sindi, holding a large banana leaf
in her dress of white lilies.
A classical halter-neck dress,
reconstructed to maximize the beauty of the kimono fabric—
the kimono dress.
The supple, delicate texture of Chirimen crepe, perfectly paired with the soft, organic hues of plant-based dye.
A kimono shirt that brings forth
the quiet beauty of natural fabrics.
Though not a coconut plantation, coconuts grow in abundance,
farmed birds wander freely,
and rice paddies stretch wide, where agriculture itself shapes the landscape.
In Bakas—a village where Bali’s nature and culture thrive—
Ali and Sindy live their days, creating Kubu Bakas
and continuing to share the true beauty of their home.
Camellias bring a quiet radiance to the navy silk dress,
harmonizing naturally with the scenes of Bali.
Golden stamens glow at the center of colorful camellia blossoms, echoing the brilliant shine of a gold bangle set against the deep navy dress.
Illuminated from behind by the Balinese sun, the unique texture of the chirimen crepe comes beautifully into focus.
Amidst the overwhelming green of this place,
the pale blue feels like a quiet spring welling up in the forest.
Ari in a kimono shirt reflecting the soft sky caught in the quiet waters.
A narrow lane where two motorbikes can barely squeeze past—flanked by rice paddies on the right and village homes on the left.

I also love the faint light born from the setting sun. Around that time, I frequently saw people burning incense or organic matter. That atmosphere gives the surroundings a slightly ethereal feel.
The subtle light of this hour, the depth of the garment, and the texture of her skin harmonized beautifully. The crisp feel of the summer pongee (Natsu-tsumugi) fabric effortlessly suits the climate of a Balinese dusk.
